A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.
Dave Ramsey
It’s been a while since I connected with you all. A lot of changes are being implemented in my life at the moment; challenging changes, but ultimately changes for the better (I’ll definitely share once the dust settles). However, life indeed does go on and in spite of everything going on, I am still dedicated to the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year.
One of those goals is to be more intentional about my nutrition and the amount of money I spend on food. For years, a disproportionally large portion of the money I have has always gone to my favourite supermarkets. I love food, I love to cook and I love grocery shopping (my absolute favourite thing is to take a shopping cart and take my time browsing the aisles – weird, I know… but that’s my thing:).
However, this week, I decided to be more strategic about my shopping and set a week and weekend shopping budget for myself. I want to be more creative about the meals I am able to prepare but I definitely do not want to break the bank. This week I was able to purchase the following from Whole Foods on a $30 budget (and I still managed to save a few dollars):

- Baby Arugula
- Green Beans
- English Cucumber
- A Head of Cauliflower
- 2 Pre-made Old Fashioned Beef Burgers (I know, I know…. but I’m trying:)
- Some Katamala olives, 3 Artichoke Hearts and Marinaded tomatoes from the Tapas bar.
I’m not sure what I’ll be making apart from (finally!) trying Cauliflower steaks, but I’m excited. I’m off from work on Sundays and Mondays, so expect some recipe ideas this week!
Enjoy your weekend beautiful people!
