5 YouTube Food Accounts to Follow Today

I recently enrolled in culinary school and to prepare, I have decided to inspire myself with those that I admire in the culinary world. Luckily for us, YouTube is an amazing platform for this purpose. I’m always amazed by the talent I stumble across on the platform and I think you might enjoy these:

Food Network : The official YouTube channel of the incredible Food Network – one of my absolute favourite things on the planet. The Network’s website is it’s flagship digital platform, but it’s YouTube channel is a great source for video clips from a wide range of past and current cooking shows and competitions. If you love watching peple cook and have some free time (any longer than 15 mins will sort you out well), please do check it out and enjoy.

Epicurious : Described as the channel “for people who love to eat”, Epicurious’ YouTube channel is dedicated to educating the public about everything to do with cooking (including instructionals, fun comparative level cooking videos, as well as providing guides on ingredients and equipment). It’s a great place to get lost down a culinary rabbit hole.

Chef Gordon Ramsey : This is the YouTube home of celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsey. I love Chef Ramsey’s frank approach (thankfully, he’s mellowed out over the years, but he still brings the punch:) and his channel is a great resource for tutorials, tips and techniques that he uses to cook. There are also come fantastically entertaining clips from some of his cooking shows and competitions.

Insider Food : I like visiting this channel for educational documentaries about food from all over the world. I find it deeply interesting and love learning (and incorporating) the different techniques and ingredients into my own home cooking. Truly, you’ll find some incredible food documentaries on this page – and they’re full-length documentaries too!

NYT Cooking : This is the official YouTube food channel for the influencial publication, the New York Times. It’s made up mostly of videos from some really cool home cooks. Click on their names to check them out: Melissa Clark, Yewande Komolafe, Priya Krishna, Eric Kim and Vaughn Vreeland.

EXTRA

Dianxi Xiaoge : This is (hands down!) my favourite cooking channel on YouTube. Fo me, there is no competition. I won’t say much more, except that I can watch her videos for hours. They’re that pleasureable – and please note that the video below has had 29 MILLION views. Nuff said. Enjoy!
