Some Stuff I Published on Medium Recently

Centennial Park, the heart of Atlanta

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, let me update you. Your girl has been living on the streets of Atlanta (well, that’s not entirely accurate… I’ll expand further on this below) and writing up a storm.

Regarding where I’ve been, I was evicted from my apartment about three weeks ago. It was expected and, at the same time, unplanned for because not only have I been unable to secure suitable employment to sustain any kind of lifestyle, but I also have had to wait until this moment to earn enough from my side projects to support myself.

I’m happy to be able to say that that is changing and things are finally looking up for me. I’m still in the midst of chaos, but at least now I can say that we’re organizing it in a way that feels comfortable and (more importantly) feels like it’s leading me in the right direction.

The last three weeks have been quite a learning experience for me, helping me face – and conquer – my biggest fear: homelessness. Being forced to engage with the world from a place of exposure and extreme vulnerability (especially as you have no place to escape to at the end of each day) places you in an environment where you have to learn the new rules of engagement with those around you.

Sitting in the park each day – getting sunburnt as I did that – allowed me the time and space to reflect and reorganize my belief system and my boundaries. Personally, I thought the experience was going to be traumatic, but to my surprise, it’s been everything but that.

The city of Atlanta

I don’t know whether it was daily access to the beautiful nature protected and nurtured at Centennial park, or whether it was Divine timing (perhaps, a little of both…), but the last three weeks have also been incredibly healing for me. Not only have I received clarity on a lot of things that have been recently going on around me, but also received closure about a lot of things that occurred in the distant past. It’s like the clouds shifted and the light has sanitized what no longer serves me away.

A happy consequence of this is that I’ve been so inspired and motivated lately. So much so that I’ve been writing up a storm and thought I’d share some of the articles I’ve published recently:

What No One Tells You about the Road Less Traveled

The Distinction between Alignment and being ‘Balanced’

How to Enjoy Cooking

If you’re on Medium, I invite you to follow me (I follow fellow writers back) to always see what’s been going on in this kind of mine. Whereas I post my deepest personal thoughts and experiences here, I publish more general thoughts about food, cooking and the development of one’s spiritual self on that platform. Either way you choose to engage with me, know that I’m grateful for your time and attention and look forward to ways to do the same for you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend beautiful people!

Love and positive vibes always,

Victoria
