Sunday Adventures: my hour at Atlanta’s Hard Rock Café

(Yes, I’m definitely going back).

I celebrate majority of my small ‘wins’ with food and occasionally, I’ll treat myself to explore somewhere new (I’m a creature of habit, so that in itself is a huge adventure for me). Yesterday, I had a personal win that I’m still digesting, but decided to celebrate at a place I’ve been going to since I was a little child: the Hark Rock Café.

Growing up, I used to frequent their location in London (and I went once to a location in South Africa too), but I don’t know… something just called my name and so I went with it – and I wasn’t disappointed.

It was a slightly different experience being in (what I now know, through my adult eyes, as) a sports bar as an adult. I don’t even like sports but I loved the non-judgmental ambiance. I felt comfortable even though I was just biding the time to check in to my accommodations.

While I waited, I decided to try something from their bar menu (which claims to have an all day happy hour, but I ended up paying full price – it was worth it though…). Usually, my go-to order is the classic burger, but yesterday, their wings were calling my name.

Ordering them dry (my favorite way to order wings… it allows me to control the amount of sauce in each bite), with their house-made barbecue sauce on the side, was heavenly. The sauce was slightly tangy and warm, as it was freshly made and the perfect thick consistency. I washed everything down with a local IPA they had on draft.

All in all, I definitely plan on going back and just spending time alone at the bar reading random Medium articles and writing a few articles of my own. Perhaps, I should gate keep this place but, I don’t know, something’s are just too good to keep to oneself. The vibe is perfect for all of us introverts that want to feel comfortable being left alone in public – but still have fun doing it.

I even bought some cool merchandise. The kind that’ll remain in your wardrobe for decades.
