Whether you’re preparing Thanksgiving dinner for the first time, or thinking of jazzing up your traditional Thanksgiving menu, preparation for Thanksgiving dinner requires lots of forethought and time management. The meal incorporates multiple courses and is characterized by the variety of dishes – all centered around a Fall theme.
As an American that has spent most of her adult life overseas, Thanksgiving is a holiday I’ve always enjoyed via The Food Network (a channel I’ve been obsessed with for decades – luckily we got it where I lived). A meal based primarily on seasonal ingredients – traditionally and locally grown and sourced – and centered around the idea of gathering with friends and family to give thanks (traditionally, it was for a successful harvest)… I don’t know… what more is there not to like? Plus, the sheer variety of dishes the various combinations of those seasonal ingredients can create…. I’m a little surprised more people are not obsessed with the holiday.
Thanksgiving amongst friends
This year, I started thinking about what dishes my ideal Thanksgiving dinner would consist of and that led me down a delicious rabbit hole of recipes. From more traditional recipes to modern fusion recipes incorporating non-traditional (or non-seasonal) elements, but still yielding bold, complementary flavors, I eventually found myself organizing everything into lists – and I thought I’d share it here for anyone that might need a little inspiration for this year’s Thanksgiving dinner.
