I love a good sausage. I spent a lot of time in Germany growing up and, for anyone that’s familiar with that country’s love of a good sausage, will understand that Germans take their links rather seriously.
Imagine my absolute delight when I was browsing my local Aldi and came across these gems (see image below). What makes these sausages special? Well, it’s the combination of the unique spice blend and the actual texture of the meat. Each bite is a flavor-bomb sensation that literally leaves you rushing for more. Trust me, I could literally eat a hundred of these and blissfully roll my way home.

So of course, I bought a few packs and, if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, buy it! Here’s a simple recipe using them in a breakfast sandwich. Trust me, you’ll never look back.
Ingredients
Deutsche Küche’s Uncured Nuremberg Bratwurst
2 slices of your favorite sliced bread (I prefer whole grain)
Your favorite ketchup (or Dijon mustard works great as well)
Method
- Preheat your over to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Place your desired number of bratwurst on a baking sheet lined with wax paper. This prevents the sausages from sticking and allows you to forgo and oil (which further enhances the flavor of the sausages as any oils will dilute the taste).
- Bake for 10 minutes and serve as a sandwich (refer the images below… I was having a snack, so only used one slice of bread, but I usually go for two and the ketchup adds a sweetness that makes the entire thing just pop with umami).
