Minimal Effort Crispy-Skin Baked Chicken Drumsticks

I don’t know about you, but I have been known to snack a lot. I rarely put together three set meals, but rather enjoy a series of smaller ones through out the day. In fact, I’ve been known to fill my plate and pause halfway through finishing it, only to return to finish it out 40 minutes later. Weird, I know, but I enjoy it.

One thing I love to meal prep and keep in the fridge during the week are chicken drumsticks. I enjoy them warmed up or even cold. It’s a great snack and a couple make a great meal with some veg (my go-to veg at the moment is broccoli).

I thought I’d share my fool proof baked chicken drumsticks recipe that is delicious and produces a really crispy skin with minimal effort and ingredients. Like, literally anyone can make this to enjoy.

Ingredients

Family-pack of Chicken Drumsticks (approximate 12 drumsticks)
Sea salt, to taste
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste (I tend to use a lot… about
2 Tbsp Garlic powder
1 Tbsp Onion powder

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Wash you chicken and pat dry with kitchen paper. I like to use distilled white vinegar to wash my chicken with. The chicken doesn’t sit in the vinegar water for long, but I find it helps dry out the skin, which produces a crispier result.
  3. In a large bowl, season your chicken with the salt, pepper, garlic and onion powders. Mixing well.
  4. In a large baking sheet lined with wax paper, lay out your drumsticks and place in the fridge for approximately 20 minutes to further dry out the skin and allow the seasonings to penetrate the skin and flesh of the chicken.
  5. Place in the oven and bake between 45-50 minutes. No need to turn over or check on them. Literally close the oven door, set your timer and relax.
  6. Once done, serve with your favorite salad or veg, so store in a re-sealable container for an easy grab-and-go snack/ protein.
